How to add items to the start button using Registry

The best way to edit registry, you always keep backup of registry before doing, if any mistake occurs you can restore it, otherwise it make problem for your system

Steps for add items to the start button using Registry


Step1: Click on start button and type Regedit in Run option

Step2: In Registry editor, select HKey_Classes_Root / Directory / Shell on the left side of the page or you can find using Find option in Edit menu

 
Step3: Then Right click on Shell folder option and add any new key with descriptive name and Press Enter.


Step4:Click newly created folder and right click on the key in right side of the page and select modify and type path of the program. Eg: C:\program file\msoffice\msexcel.EXE

Step5: Now close all open programs and check the changes in your computer Start button.
