To hide all icons on the Desktop using Registry.


It shows how to hide all icons on the Desktop using Registry.

Steps to hide all Icons.

Step 1: Click Start Menu and type regedit in RUN option and continue. 


Step 2: Then goto: HKey_Current_User \ Software\ Microsoft \Windows \ Current Version \ Policies \ Explorer

Step 3: Create a DWORD called NoDesktop (right click on the right side panel, select new and click DWORD)


 
Step 4: Now change the value to 1

 
Step 5: Now restart your system for the changes to take place.

  1. I didn't know about this way to hide the icons, but it's great that I learned something new. Personally, I hide them with Fences software, I think it's from Stardock. I have my icons on desktop and when I double click on it, I hide them... it's a really great little program. An IT tech support specialist told me about it.
